Harness Your Will

By Rob Monaco, Little League commissioner, coach and baseball dad.

Baseball will challenge you every single day. It does not discriminate and it does not pick and choose who it makes the game more difficult for. It’s hard no matter what!

The difference however is how you prepare for it. Can you accept the challenge? Can you work hard to overcome the mistakes and the failure and move forward in this game? That’s the question. The answer? Is yes.

Why? Because if you love this game, it’s complexities, it’s strategy… and the thrill of victory. You must learn to love the mistakes as well…because in the Growing years, there will be many.

Quite simply… Be mentally tough and you can do anything you want on the field. Harness your will to get over the humps of failure and push forward, always.

I’ve seen plenty of kids quit this game. Be it because they felt as though their coach didn’t utilize them enough, or they just felt as though the challenge was too great and they couldn’t overcome it.
