Player Encouragement – What is “Perfect?”

Share

Baseball coach, commissioner and dad, Rob Monaco shares his insightful wisdom on working with young players on the Facebook Page The Heart of Youth Baseball

Being perfect isn’t about the score and it isn’t about you making or not making mistakes on the baseball diamond. Believe it or not being perfect is not about winning.

Can you work with your teammates? Can you work together and look at each other and know that you didn’t let each other down? Can you look at your teammates and know that you all worked together collectively and fought your hardest on any game day, in any moment, without giving up? Can you listen to your coach and execute what he’s teaching every day… character, courage, determination and integrity? Can you do that?

Well…If you can… then, you are perfect!

It’s never about winning; it’s about doing your best.
